You may be right if you are talking about commercial lard. The old " home grown " lard is not. Heck, most of the farmers could not spell hydrogenated for many years, much less do it. Lots of people still use lard instead of all the modern stuff. Wayne

I'd been wondering if there was an oil out there that could be used for deep frying. Hmmm, does all lard officially come from pigs? Or are there other sources (such as beef, etc.)? Mindy P.S. I'll bet you farmers *could* spell " hydrogenated, " especially if they were home-schooled!
