Hi everyone!

I have joined this list for two reasons, first I have always been interested in

holistic approaches to health. And second, because at the current moment,

my husband is in a lot of pain due to a cancre sore in his mouth. It seemed like

the perfect time to join a list and get help for him and to be able to learn

more about the holistic remedies that I have always been intrigued by.

My husbands problem started when he was put on an antibiotic for an infection

in his leg by the doctor. The antibiotic caused a horrible cancre

sore at the back of the top palate of his mouth. It is

very painful and makes eating very difficult.

Does anyone have a holistic remedy to make this cancre sore heal

quicker? He is no longer on the antibiotic.

Thanks for any help and I look forward to learning from this list.

Hi Cheryl! Since your husband has been on antibiotics, you may wish to

consider whether this has contributed to the sore by possibly providing

opportunity for a yeast (thrush?) to cause problems. A fungal infection

in the mouth can be very painful, surprisingly! There are a number of

medications, like nystatin drops, which can be applied directly, and

antifungals which are taken as pills for systemic treatment. WATCH his

DIET!!! Get him off sugar immediately! It contributes to the problem

further. There are natural remedies, which some people have found a

degree of success with (like tea tree oil, oragano oil). My sense is

that you need faster help, so a prescription may be what you'll prefer.

Holistic self-care can be implemented as well. Get some expert advice,

and see if your husband needs an immune-boost ( excells

here!), and a good restorative diet plan, including cleaning

out/restoring healthy intestinal flora (yeast just love to live in the

gut, causing many problems). Good luck!!! Steve
