I suffered for nearly four years from Athlete's Foot, which I caught from my husband. (Personally, I don't believe that bogus about wearing thongs in the bathroom and all that...I believe that if your immune system is strong enough, you simply won't catch it. But maybe I'm being naive.) Anyway, when I caught it, I was about 7 months pregnant with my first child and not in good health. I was clueless about nutrition and was clearly showing signs of gestational diabetes (which my midwife diagnosed -- she then ordered me to eat 75 grams of protein a day, which I discovered is really hard to do if you're a toast addict ). So I hadn't gotten around to trying any of the OTC products for foot fungus over the years, but I had tried things such as garlic and silver colloidal. It mysteriously went away just a few months ago, and I hadn't been doing anything to it specifically, though I had started taking a thyroid supplement and I always wondered if the thyroid is connected to the immune system. Oh, speaking of which, the thyroid *does* control the body's internal temperature, I think, and I found a web page somewhere that said that the body's temperature is related to the immune system. So if the thyroid supplements raised my temperature, then maybe that's what did it. (My temps are usually very low -- it's a miracle if I can get it up to 98.1!!! The only thing that I've found that consistently works to raise my temperature is if I exercise on the exercise bike for at least 20 minutes a day.) > Some doctor stated that 1/3 of the food we eat keeps us alive, the other > 2/3 is what keeps your doctor alive. > Hmm, very interesting!!! So maybe we should eat only 1/3 of the food? I read an article in SELF magazine which compared portion sizes of food in America versus portion sizes in other countries. Such as, the size and weight of a taco served in an American restaurant as compared to the size and weight of a taco served in Mexico. It was a real eye-opener... Guest guest
Speaking of toenails I notice that my two big toe nails have groves in them at the bottom.. I read that ridges on you r fingernails could be a sign of organ disease... I am wondering what causes these obvious dents in those two toenails??I do cleanses every three months..
