Guest guest
>> How does a supplement surpassing its expiration date affect its potency? I'm thinking of Co-enzyme Q10 in particular.>> In my experience these things are decided by committee. In other words if they give it one year, there is no telling how long it will stay effective. I can not speak to CoQ10; But my Gout medication Indocid carries a one year expiration date. Now Gout is very painful, so if the medicine were to wear out I would know it in a half hour. Some of my Gout medicine is over 10 years old and has been frozen and thawed several times still works as well as the fresh stuff. There are laws that Rx meds need to carry a 12 mo exp date in some States. I live in a cool dry climate and things keep well, hot damp climates are bad news! Dry powders keep better than liquids! I take some Vitamins that are expired some time ago and have never gotten ill from that! Your best bet is to call/write several manufacturers, not the sellers but the manufacturers!
