Guest guest
Liz and any others who might be interested - this is on Homozon. Probably someone else is doing the same - but here's an interesting and not too flattering take on ozone use from the oxyplus list. Kevin Nolan " I am researching and putting content together for a website that will sell homozon. I asked a friend of mine who has a PHD in neuroscience and knows a great deal about chemistry and science in general .I showed him the content I had so far and gave him a few links on homozon.hoping to get more perspectives on it and see what he thought about it and after reading various things about it he had this to say: ****************** Mike, I have looked over the homozon stuff a bit and I think that the claims are way off base. There isn't enough information (like its exact chemical formula or controlled studies) for me to properly evaluate the claims but I think this is what is going on: There is no " stabilized ozone " in the product you are receiving. Such a thing is probably not chemically possible (at least not for the biological activity described). The positive effects you and others are experiencing probably comes from mineral supplementation. Magnesium in decent doses increase energy, has anti-viral effects, works synergistically with nootropics. The cheapest form is milk of magnesia. I take this myself and find I get good results with it. Ozone DOES effectively kill bacteria, viruses, and destroy toxins and odors BUT it does so by a method that is almost identical to chlorine Bleach. Bleach contains nothing more than the elements in salt water Na Cl H and O, but because of a slight difference in chemical structure it becomes highly reactive and caustic. Bleach kills by savaging organic molecules it comes into contact with. Ozone is a bleach (an oxygen bleach) and sterilizes by being a violently reactive chemical with organic molecules. It is not caustic (an alkali) like chlorine bleach but it will cause oxidative burns in tissue. Further ozone has a major toxic effect that bleach does not. It binds to hemoglobin and cytochromes irreversibly and prevents them from carrying a usable form of oxygen (O2). This is the same mechanism of action as the poison cyanide, and in fact ozone is more powerful in its toxic effect. Ozone does not increase the available oxygen to cells in fact it decreases it. From my work in O-chem I know that we treat even a 4% concentration of ozone as a terrible poison. Here is a typical material safety data sheet on ozone: http://www.hankinozone.com/msds.html http://www.arcesystems.com/products/ozone/msds.htm Ozone is good for eliminatinating viruses, bacteria, and contaminants, but it does so by burning them up, much the way the bleach does. I hope that you don't find my response to depressing. If you can refer me to more scientifrically detailed cites I will evaluate them as I have time. In the meantime go buy yourself a bottle of milk of magnesia. Its good stuff taken in moderation. Tastes like chalk though ;-) ...............
