I meant thay have all the information to hand, and probably preach it on a

holistic healers.

Evening Marianne,

>Doctors and nurses have no excuse having all that inside information and of

What do you mean, " inside information " . I think most of them have

access to less information than we do. Plus, their information is censored

and distorted.

For example, a friends wife was a working dietitian all her life. She

died of a heart attack at work. And.... she did not drink, smoke, or curse.

Somehow, her " inside information " failed her. She worked at a major

hospital planning meals for other sick people.

Of course I did not disagree with your post. I only have a slightly

different view of the problems of the world.

Good Evening Wayne and Marianne,

My reply is...

I firmly believe that transfats are the major cause of heart

attacks. It's really pathetic, but transfats are served even in

hospitals!! Nutritionists have all the inside information, not

necessarily the dieticians. That is my opinion anyway. :-)

Sounds like the fact of the matter to me. I always wondered why

dietitians should not be replaced with

nutritionist.

Likely a real nutritionist could not stand the pressure and survive in

a hospital situation.

That's beyond pathetic.... that is... it's like, almost *evil* if you ask

me!!

Wasn't it Dr. Mendelsohn who said that if you're sick, stay away from

hospitals? He was less than impressed with hospital nutrition...

Mindy,

Hi! Evil and a very real fact of life. There aren't many hospitals

that even link these transfats with cardiovascular disease. A few

that specialize in alternative medicine come to mind. That's about it!

I first heard of it through friends and Dr. Walter Willett of the

Harvard Medical Center who manages to effectively link them with

cardiovascular problems and thrombosis.

Many don't have a clue that they are bad for you. Doesn't it irk

you to see how " Benecol " and " Take Control " are advertised as healthy

margarines! Nothing could be farther from the truth!

And all these olive oil margarines that contain hydrogenated oils are

a travesty. Old people eat them and think they're doing something

great for their bodies. I would like to see their reaction if the

public were confronted with the truth!! The aisles of our local

groceries are loaded with the stuff. We need to take inventory of

whose pockets we are stuffing when we ingest it!!! Not that I do at

the moment! I thank God that I was presented with the truth a few

years ago. They say that one doesn't go until it's their time,...I

think that one can speed that up quite a bit by visiting the baked

goods aisle of the local grocery!! :-) Now I stay in the outer aisles

myself!!

P.S. Have you ever heard of the way transfats are made? It's

terrifying reading!!!

Regards, JoAnn
