Calcium Question

The addition of calcium in orange juice just contributes to our

chances of getting gallstones, etc. My son-in-law had kidney stones

from high dairy consummption, etc. She always bought Tropicana with

extra calcium. Try spinach and kale! Dairy is high in phosphoric

acids and doesn't help with calcium loss as many tend to think!

JoAnn - Just the one gallstone as far as I am aware. Thank you for the

article, I will continue to take the magnesium that I have purchased and all

the other bits that have been recommended - I am sure that I must feel some

sort of benefit no matter how small by the end of them which will tell me if

I am going the correct way.

Most of the calcium they add in food products aren't

the absorbable kind. Also there is different kinds

of calcium and certain ones are most beneficial for

your bones. You need a certain amount of magnesium

to help calcium to function also. So when you see

these food products stuffed with " calcium " , think,

are you really benefiting? Wheres the magnesium?

How about the boron to help it enter the bones.

My opinion is that this is just a product " buy me "

scam.

I am almost certain Tums do not contain aluminum; that's why I use them.

But I do worry about calcium overload, because I take a lot of Tums.

I live & work in New Orleans & I get to see a lot of convention

goers out on the town at night. Recently there was an Opthamology

convention & I was horrified at the huge number of cigar smokers I saw

wearing convention badges. At nurses' conventions I see a lot of chain

smoking nurses. If I made a generalization, I'd say real estate agents I

have met & talked with while on convention had more health consciousness

than many I see in the medical profession.

At a local hospital there is a smoking section outside of the hospital in

full view of loved ones who are in a sitting area waiting to hear the

results of surgical procedures..it is incredible how many nurses are out

there ..There are many docotrs who still smoke as well

If they dont take care of themselves or their own loved ones, why should

anyone criticize us for having a negative opinion about allopathic medicine?

As an ex smoker (2 years clean now) I can understand them starting in the

50's and 60's, even the 70's but I really cannot understand how anyone can

smoke/start smoking in this day and age - everyone is made so aware of what

it does to you. It was the one bone of contention between my sister and I -

she wanted me around a bit longer and felt that this would only happen if I

gave up the evil weed.

Doctors and nurses have no excuse having all that inside information and of

course seeing it for themselves.

Because we are not NORMAL - why would anyone in their right mind want to go

and see a holistic healer when they can have drugs that will 'cure' them

the hype that they are being fed via their own gp.

John,

Hello! Have you tried Milk of magnesia for gastric distress? Also

Flora puts out a very good alternative blend.

Fennel is a very good herb for digestion! I have used fennel with

very good results. It is available in both tea and capsule form.

Ginger is excellent also.

Tums contribute to Alzheimers. Aluminum or not, have you read the

labels? There are many toxic substances contained therein.
