Guest guest
Morning TIA, >Please would you explain what 'trailmix' is? I live in Australia and >have never heard of it! Well, Glory BE ! Maybe us Americans finally invented something worth while. It is simply a mixture of seeds and nuts that suit your fancy. Most are high in fats and amino acids. Some items are not so high in amino acids, but the variety is impressive. Most items contain a good amount of potassium as well. It is surely a " GodSend " for Vegetarians. While I am not a true vegetarian, One can virtually become one without even trying when he eats trailmix regularly. I have lost my desire for meats. Even before this transition, I would only eat a steak once every 3 to 4 months. Now it is one about every six months. I still eat eggs and milk, and am not opposed to eating meat. I simply do not want it. My trialmix page contains the recipe I use and also has nutrition listings of all the ingredients. Originally, this was a trailmix page only. I kept adding links and other nutritional information. Now the page has become a bit long. Two or three of the blood analysis on the page are the results of trailmix and water being added to the diet of the other guinea pigs, other than myself. For anyone that is a " doubting thomas " about the effect of sea salt and water, take a look at the 48 year old female. The changes she accomplished in only 60 days is amazing. Almost forgot...... the trailmix page www.fugitt.com/trailmix.htm Originally, I had only the nutrition info for the trailmix ingredients. Later I started adding every item that I eat regularly. Guest guest
Dear Wayne, Many thanks for the info about trailmix. I will visit your website. >>Please would you explain what 'trailmix' is? I live in Australia and >have never heard of it!<< > Well, Glory BE ! Maybe us Americans finally invented something worth while.< Don't worry, Australia seems to think most things US are worth adopting! We probably have a version of trailmix somewhere - I just haven't come across it. Thanks again Jo, in Sydney
Guest guest
Thank you to all those who sent me info about trailmix. It sounds good! We have something here called LSA - a mix of linseeds, sunflower seeds and almonds - to sprinkle on food, so perhaps that is the Aussie version of traimix. You could be right. I checked with a book I trust and it said LSA is recommended to prevent constipation, reduce menopause symptoms, PMS and other period problems , reduce osteoporosis ... But naturopaths and doctors also recommend it as a generally useful adjunct to the diet. Jo, in Sydney

If there are no additives then it is the ideal lazy cooks trailmix (that would do for me and I think I may well go out there and get some). marianne > But naturopaths and doctors also recommend it as a generally useful adjunct > to the diet. > > Jo, in Sydney >
