Does sorghum have more nutritional value than molasses?? Isnt it a thick cane

sugar from maple syrup?

I think I read that molasses is good for acid problems

I wonder about blackstrap.

http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/cgi-bin/nut_search.pl

Enter blackstrap into the search and hit the enter key. Select Tbs.

As can be seen it is high in carbohydrates (sucrose), has some magnesium

but not much else.

If the long url doesn't send well go to: http://www.mercola.com/ and

enter sorghum.

Sucrose Class: Public Enemy #1!

Sucrose is found in almost all processed foods such as plain table

sugar, dextrose, raw natural sugar, blackstrap molasses, maple syrup, or

sorghum molasses. Taken from sugar beets or sugar cane, this

disaccharide is composed of glucose and fructose. Because it contains NO

vitamins or minerals it must rob them from the body in which it is

assimilated, (like a parasite leaching the " life " from its victim).

Actually Ron, blackstrap molasses contains B vitamins (thiamin, riboflavin

and niacin), calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium and lots of

potassium.

The calcium:magnesium ratio is about 2`:1
