Me too but it works out to be very expensive with petrol and time added on,

so I hope to see benefits very soon.

I do have HBP and have not started on licorice - I cannot get Alvita

licorice tea here.

I have got the tincture which also includes motherwort ariels, American

ginseng roots & cayenne fruits.

I'm so happy that you found an organic market!

Well I took 800 mgs magnesium daily, in 400 mg increments. 500

should be very benficial, though.

Just one question. I'm concerned about the licorice as it's not to

be taken by anyone with high blood pressure. Sometimes HBP goes hand

in hand with heart problems, so just thought I'd be safe and ask. :-)

There is one brand that can be taken w/o any ill effects if you have

problems with HBP. I drink the Alvita licorice tea myself.

Hawthorn berry capsules are the form that I used. It should be

good in any form though I would imagine.

That was one of the ways that receiving my healing. It's the

reservatol in the red grapes where one derives the benefits. White

wine is not as beneficial as the darker red ones. A good red grape

juice is just as good, if you don't imbibe! LOL (I use a frozen brand

w/o sugar, as sugar collects in your arteries and is prone to cause

more problems!)

Hi! Shari Lieberman,Ph.d. states in her book, " The Real Vitamin

and Mineral Book " , that 500-1,000 mgs is the suggested daily dosage

for angina and high blood pressure! The reason I took it morning and

night was basically b/c I read in her book that it's a natural muscle

relaxer. I needed those extra benefits dearly at that time! :-)

Stress has been implicated in depleted magnesium levels, which may

account for the typical " Type A " personality's risk for

cardiovascular disease and the low magnesium levels usually result in

blood clots, which explains it quite well.

I don't take extra calcium...only that which is contained in my

multi-mineral supplement(very minimal)...there are sources that say

post-menopausal women who took extra calcium wound up in the ER with

heart attacks...(the resulting blood clots containing calcium)...

Calcium being a blood vessel contrictor. After that I certainly

didn't want to take the chance of consuming very much. ;-)

I eat many green leafy vegetables high in calcium content, such as

kale, spinach, etc. There is three times as much calcium in one

serving of spinach as there is in one glass of milk!

You will find that magnesium oxide has the great levels of

magnesium (60%)...unlike various other forms.

The tincture sounds great. I took the tinctures also at the start

of my illness and they worked well for me. I think you will find the

cayenne to be very helpful also.

The licorice might be good, but if you are unable to find it, I

wouldn't worry. Actually the other supplements will work as well w/o

it, unless of course you also have adrenal or thyroid problems. In

that case I would recommend kelp as the best supplement.

My doctor told me to take ALL of my minerals at night.

That is when the body processes it, while we are at

sleep.

I think I will take 1,000 then and have one morning and night, I think I need

it.

I really don't want to take calcium after what you read and will eat my green

leafy veg instead.

I remember one group email (unsure of which) that mentioned cayenne was good

for anyone with heart problems.

I will take the kelp then because with HBP I do not want to risk licorice -

it is not a problem getting it because I did see it in the health shop, I

also love real licorice, but I am wary of taking it just in case. Kelp is

another one of the vits that I already have in the cupboard so no extra

expense in taking it.

Good luck with everything! I'm glad to hear that you have the kelp

handy! Kelp is very beneficial for whole body health. :-) There are

various foods that are beneficial with controlling high blood

pressure. I have some compiled if you're interested. Are you taking

meds for it?
