okidoki :) Yep, I got a few bottles of DMSO (you might want to check thissource? I got it from a horse catalogue, obviously they use it on animalsa lot, its 99.9 % and only cost a few dollars per lb..... I'm sure itcan't possibly be as good as yours? But well, it only cost a fraction.....since it is basically just a byproduct, I think you're being ripped off :(

Actually, my DMSO is USP Pharmaceutical grade (it's injectable intravenously), and is the same stuff injected into Down Syndrome kids to realign the DNA and handle that condition. I pay more for it, but it's the creme de la creme. Because, I use it in some of my experimental projects, it has to be the purest and the best.

Love,

Ian

Ian, like Jennifer, I also have a friend with a Downs syndrom child. If it needs to be administered my IV for the children to get the help they need, wouldn't they have to go to that particular clinic. I need to tell you that I had purchased some mint flavored DMSO from the local health food store, and was afraid to use it. My dad had what truly looked like skin cancer on his ear(we all have seen skin cancer) and after reading stuff on DMSO, my mother boldly asked for the bottle from me, and started dabbing it on dads ear. His ear got completely, I mean completely well. This was last year. He has beautiful pink ears now. How about that???!!!! My mother believes in Cayenne Pepper now too, since she almost died and I twice gave it to her. She knows the first thing out of my mouth when she is feeling bad, will be,"did you take Cayenne?" HUGS to you all,

Elaine

Hi Elaine,

Topically, you can get fairly reputable DMSO from most healthfood stores. When used IV, the only way to go is with USP Pharmaceutical grade. I normally sell this but need to order more as I'm currently out. It's a little tough to get ahold of and what I do get seems to go fast. They store and ship it in specially prepared glass containers and it (of course) costs way more than the regular used for topical apps.

Doesn't surprise me your Dad's ear got better as that stuff is awesome, though don't buy the scented stuff again (Big no no). I also use it on my glaucoma and cataract clients in conjunction with the EyeBright formula with tremendous results.

Don't believe anyone if they say it will not permeate plastic. It will, the stuff is so penetratable. I learned the hard way and had to throw out a large supply which had been stored in #1 plastic which is supposed to be safe for any app. Sooooo, I go the extra mile and get the pricy stuff in glass.

Much love,

Doc.

PS. Well Done on the Cayenne. Yer on the right track with that herb.

Jamie,

I haven' t done it, but have heard several times that other have done this with

success. I need to try it! For

Arthritic Joints, I wonder what DMSO and Burdock tincture would do together?

They make it in a gel and in a

liquid.

It is potentially dangerous if stored in a plastic container as DMSO will leach the plastic from the container over a period of time and the plastic leached will go into your system. As most of you know, I've been doing some intensive study on DMSO over the last several years and the above was a new development I just discovered. I'll be posting a paper on it in the near future and will let y'all know at that time. Sorry to make you wait, but I'm waiting to hear back from a chemist at one of the main DMSO labs on the exact info before I publish.

Jamie,

My information tells me that it is found readily excreted in the urine. This

comes out of a PDR for supplements which is very conservative and quick to say

something if there are any known problems. It is a naturally occuring compound.

The PDR does not give a normal or therapeutic dose for DMSO, however. For MSM

they say 1 to 3 grams a day.

Hey Jamie,

Good to hear from you again. My rule of thumb with DMSO is that a little goes a long way but you do not need to be careful as it is not toxic at all. I've downed a 2 oz shot glass of the stuff with absolutely no ill effects. In my eyebright formula I use equal drops of DMSO with the Eyebright formula.

Hope this helps.

Pat,

I suggest you go to a health food store and buy a book on the subject of

DMSO. They have many books on this one subject and if you can't make it to

a health food store, you could always go to Amazon bookstore on the intern et.

BTW, the maple trees aren't dead or you wouldn't get any sap to make mapl e

syrup.

Sorry here I go again so how do they get it out of the wood? I can see ho w

they get the maple syrup but these trees are dead. Please help me underst and

Actually, I was looking for information upon equine worming agents

when I just came across this:

http://www.gov.on.ca/OMAFRA/english/livestock/horses/facts/00-063.html

" Anti-inflammatory Medications

DMSO is well known to horse owners. The active ingredient is dimethyl

sulphoxide which is a powerful solvent. It reduces swelling due to

trauma because of its hygroscopic properties (takes up water). It can

increase the penetration of low molecular weight allergens like

penicillin G and can cause a marked local reaction if topically

administered substances like liniments are present on the skin.

Therefore, apply only to dry skin. Rubber gloves should be worn while

applying DMSO. Human exposure will cause a garlic-like breath and

might cause local skin reaction, headache and nausea. Use in well

ventilated areas and avoid inhalation and contact with eyes. (Bayley

1999) "

Here is a very simple question - what is it and where can I find reference to it in the files Doc please? I have been reading through the formulae and the files and have also searched the messages, but can't work out what it is. I expect I am being very simple, but maybe it is an American thing, so please help out this poor Brit.

Sue

P.S. This reminds me of a time when I asked on a quilting list (yes I make quilts, healing quilts mostly) how you could make a circle of material without a template, and someone, rather puzzled said - how about a pencil and a piece of string. Hmm.

Sue,

It's listed under " articles " in the files. Look at messages 15381 and 14682

for more detailed information on it.

Your PS reminded me of the time I was putting away the kids shape sorter and

I was

spending time putting each shape in it's proper hole when my cousin suggested

that I just open the top and put them all in that way. " I never thought of

that! " Duh

Dear Chris,

You really do need to leave off the "Incredimail" blurb at the end of your sig line. It really screws up when trying to answer while getting rid of the blurbs. It is also against our list policies.

DMSO will help enhance the BF & C, but remember, BF & C is not for pain. It is an healing tincture.

She should start off with one dropperful of the DMSO and keep at that dosage until she stops stinking. Then she should up it to 2 dropperfuls and keep it there until she stops stinking and so on. The general rule of thumb with DMSO dosages, is if you're not stinking, you're not getting enough ;o)

Love,

Doc

Hi All!

I have a question regarding DMSO. Can I give it to my sister to enhance the effect of the BF & C tincture, and if so, how much should she take? She has major lower back pain because of slipped disc and surgery, which took place years ago. The pain in her back comes often, and for the past couple of months it's been really bad. I'm in the process of making the deep tissue repair oil. She's been taking the BF & C for about a week, and doesn't really feel any benefit yet.

Just a brief note on the following. I haven't looked for DMSO in some years but it used to be available in some Farm & Ranch stores and through some veterinarians. It's commonly used as a liniment for horses, or at least it used to be. While not formulated for human use, it is still USP grade.
