Guest guest
The following information is sent from a devoted to natural healing! I have also been told caffeine is very bad for you and not just in it's caffeine form, but from what I know, it also destroys bone density. > > > > taken from :Healing With Whole Foods " > Dangerous chemicals are used in the production of coffee: poisonous herbicide and pesticide sprays in its cultivation, petroleum-based solvents in its decafination and other chemicals in making it instant; in addition, the oils I coffee easily go rancid once it is ground. Therefore, organic, whole coffee beans, which can be freshly ground as needed are preferable. If a decaffeinated coffee is desired, choose the types that are steam processed. > > Coffee drinkers are at risk of developing specific diseases. Women who consume coffee on top of a high-fat diet have a larger risk of mammary and bladder cancer. Coffee consumption during pregnancy increases the rate of miscarriages and birth defects. Coffee intake has been shown to be directly related to pancreatic cancer and heart attack-the more coffee consumed, the greater the likelihood of these conditions. Even moderate coffee drinking of two daily cups or more raises cholesterol. > > The acid in coffee eats away the villi of the small intestine, reducing their effectiveness in supporting nutrient assimilation - most heavy coffee drinkers are deficient in calcium and other minerals. Thus the acids in coffee ma cause as much problems the caffeine. To aid in restoring a coffee-ravaged small intestine, use nettle leaf tea, two or more cups daily for at least six weeks. De- acidified ground coffee is most commonly available n supermarkets. Coffee makers which use a cold-water method to remove the harmful acids are also available from kitchen supply stores. > > > Sure makes you wonder! > Robin > rstone@k... > http://www.kua.net/~rstone

If it does, then I should be a jellyfish! I'm not, haven't even ever broken a bone either. Coffee goes back and forth as good/bad/innocuous according to the flavor of the day. In trying to track a hypertension problem down, coffee/no coffee made NO difference. They've discovered that filtered (drip) coffee has little/no effect on cholesterol. This is the way most coffee is made in the US. I think it's a scapegoat for the faddists! Chuck Support your local medical examiner--die strangely !
