Guest guest
Has anyone here read _Your Body's Many Cries for Water_? (I haven't.) I was wondering how much water the author says someone should drink in one day.... -- Mindy ----------------------- " ...that they may be one... Guest guest
I have not read the book you mention, but the rule of thumb I have picked up over the years is that one should consume take one's body weight in pounds & divide by 2. Then consume 1 ounce for each pound. So a 150 pound person should consume about 75 ounces of water a day. Caffienated drinks count as minus water. As do diet sodas, etc. So a quart of cola means you should drink an extra 2 quarts of water on top of the normal amount. If you eat a *lot* of fresh veggies & fruits, drink fruit or veggie juices, etc. the water in the fruits & veggies counts as water. Eating salt, white flour, sugar, junk foods will increase your water need. The rule of thumb assumes you are eating a healthy diet.
