Hi Jo, because early on, someone said that the yellow and/or gold were a much better quality, and as you know, in NZ we don't get much in the way of good quality supplements, etc. But, i had to have the botanical name so the lady who owns the h/f shop could get her supplier to order some. Regards, Dorothy.

Hi Dorothy, To my understanding there is no significant difference between the golden and the dark brown flax / linseed. What you want is the seeds to be certified organic and not to have been treated with chemicals to assist germination and kill fungus. ======================== Good Health & Long Life, Greg Watson, gowatson USDA database (food breakdown) http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/ PubMed (research papers) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi DWIDP (nutrient analysis) http://www.walford.com/dwdemo/dw2b63demo.exe KIM (omega analysis) http://ods.od.nih.gov/eicosanoids/KIM_Install.exe

Hi Greg, well it doesn't really matter now, i have the brown, and the golden ones are on order. <G> >>>>>What you want is the seeds to be certified organic. These are certified organic, i wouldn't buy anything else. Take care. Regards, Dorothy.
