Guest guest
hello, Ron ( the desert - rat) Since you posted the bad's about sweetner's and about sucrose etc. Can you now tell us about any sweetner that is not a robber of our precious vitamin's and minerals.?????? What is a good sweetner to use in place of these. I had thought Black Strap Mollasses was a good one but if made from leftovers and containing 65 % of the sucrose, chuck it. Actually, stevia stabilizes blood sugar levels. It's good for diabetics and hypoglycemics. Good old Mother Nature is smarter then Monsanto. Some Japanese studies show it kills tooth decay organisms, too. Starris

Any stevia info should mention it, since it's one of the major benefits of the herb. Try a Google search or alltheweb.com Or look in a modern herbal. Older ones usually don't mention stevia. Or ask anyone who has ever used it. It's common knowledge. Starris
Guest guest
I have no literature to back thkis up, but my ersonal opinion is that stevia is not real good for one. Stevia tastes sweet, so it triggers insulin oproduction. Since there is no sugar, the body makes too much insulin which depletes blood glucose levels. Over time, I feel it is not good to trigger insulin production with no reason. Again, I acknowledge this is not backed uop by hard scientific evidence, but I do not feel stevia is real good for anyone. More the idea to prime the pancreas to start the production process. > Since there is no sugar, the body makes too much > insulin which depletes blood glucose levels. With respect, good theory but in practice this does not happen. Like protein intake, glucagon (opposite hormone to insulin, which elevates blood glucose level) is also elevated and blood glucose stays somewhat constant. > Over time, I feel it is not > good to trigger insulin production with no reason. We haven't used any sweeteners or salt for over 15 years and really enjoy the real taste of food. ======================== Good Health & Long Life, Greg Watson, gowatson USDA database (food breakdown) http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/ PubMed (research papers) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi DWIDP (nutrient analysis) http://www.walford.com/dwdemo/dw2b63demo.exe KIM (omega analysis) http://ods.od.nih.gov/eicosanoids/KIM_Install.exe
