Guest guest
Hi, Dorothy, There's a golden flax (or yellow flax), which is called *Linum flavum*. It has golden-yellow, trumpet-shaped flowers. Is that what you're looking for? Hi Jo, thanks for your reply. I am going to get the lady that owns the h/f shop to order some, but she needed the botanical name first. All we get out here are the brown ones, which are not the best. Thanks again. Love, Dorothy in sunny (at last) Nelson, NZ.
Guest guest
Dorothy, None of my naturopathy books mention the golden flax, only the one with brown seeds. Is the golden special in some way? Love, Jo, in Sydney - Dorothy Gettingwell Saturday, November 24, 2001 4:48 PM Re: Golden flax seeds >>>>>*Linum flavum*. Guest guest
Our Whole Food market has golden and darker brown flax seeds in the bulk section. I bought the brown, I don't remember why except I had read they were higher in oil content. I will try to find out where I saw that. ken >>> >None of my naturopathy books mention the golden flax, only the one with brown seeds. Is the golden special in some way? I buy only organically certified & non treated seeds. ======================== Good Health & Long Life, Greg Watson, gowatson USDA database (food breakdown) http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/ PubMed (research papers) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi DWIDP (nutrient analysis) http://www.walford.com/dwdemo/dw2b63demo.exe KIM (omega analysis) http://ods.od.nih.gov/eicosanoids/KIM_Install.exe
