Guest guest
Michelle, From your post, your life has been very stressful. Day after day of stress and depression can deplete the body, your adrenals are probably running on practically zero. My Dr. told me there are ALOT of people with stressed adrenals that is being blaming on something else. I'm going to suggest a few inexpensive items you can purchase from a health food store or order over the net. Get some adrenal support. I can't tell you how badly I felt when my adrenals dropped to almost zero, stress related. I felt an underlying slight depression I couldn't put my finger on... it was due to my adrenals " misfiring " . I would suggest Standard Process Labs or NutriWest. Chiropractors and NDs carry these or the net. Ashwagandha is another good adrenal support supplement. Ginseng is a good all around support herb. Have you tried any natural antidepressants? Like Kava, SamE, Valerian and a few others. I know people who have used them with great success. I think a multi B vit. is good for stress. You do not need a Dr's prescription for any of these. Your body will tell if they are working or not. <<Thanks for mentioning having my thyroid and hormones checked. I do have Hashimoto's hypothyrodism, so I have that checked regularly. >> I'm speaking from personal experience about hashimotos. I was very seriously ill from it. Illness in itself can depresses you, let alone anything else. If I knew then what I know now, I would have researched supplements for my thyroid and other endocrine glands. Or got the help of an ND. When you have hash., your body is experiencing opposite symptoms which again can make you feel terrible. Try making an appointment with a Naturopathic Dr. Chances are they will fit you in it you explain your need for an appt. They won't give you perscriptions to bandaid your depression, they will get to the bottom of it nutritionally. Many chiropractors will do the same thing. Ask around for referrals for both types of physicians... there is good and not so good in every profession. Allergies or intolerance to foods can fuel depression. Wheat, milk, etc. can put you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. <<I have never had my hormones checked - how would I get that done? Just ask my doctor? Michelle>> You can ask your gyno to test you for hormones, this can be done through bloodwork but these bloodtests are not always accurate. Your body will tell you if something is wrong, look for the signs. If your ovaries or pituitary are off then you may have hormone problems. If your adrenals are stressed, the domino theory can apply and other glands can become stressed. The endocrine system is all connected, you may need to support a couple of glands. If your hormones are off, you can go the route of perscription HRT, JUST for a month to get you back on track and feeling better quickly, then try one of the many natural hormone supports out there to keep you regulated. With the natural HRT, your body will tell you how its doing and what it needs. Some woman get so caught up in family that they forget about themselves. What I have learned, is when it comes down to it, we have to look out for ourselves, in turn, the rest of the family will be rewarded with a well person. You might want to try a massage. Go to one that uses Essential Oils for relaxation. Close your eyes, and let go ... Try stealing 20 min of your day, by yourself, make a cup of tea, read a book, put on some relaxing music, lounge in the tub... and have quiet time. Look in your local paper, there are support groups out there for many issues. You can make the choice if you want your husband along or not. You are not alone, other woman have suffered the same issues.... go have a chat with some " girlfriends " . : ) Terri
Guest guest
I discovered that a saliva test is far more accurate than any blood work I am very leery of the bloodwork I have to have done for my thyroid ..After 6 years of hell I was encouraged to do a hair analysis ,(and I know there is controversy about this too,) but I discovered that I was close to adrenal exhaustion- this is something that was never addressed or discovered on any blood test. My chiro has put me on BIOTICS Clucobalance. Cytozyme AD and an aderenal formula ADHS. I am finally beginning to feel less fatigued and realize that it is no longer a problem with my thryoid it is my adrenal glands. someone else I know has adrenal insufficiency problems and now has chronic pancreatitis.she is seeing an allpathinc doctor who just stabiized her and sends her home from the hospital when she has an attack because he has no answers other than drastic surgery...Sadly she is a young woman..but thinks her doctor is a god. Guest guest
Reiki is also very good - a treatment can allow you to release lots of emotion in just one hour (always 60 - 90 minutes, never less), it relaxes you and makes you feel so much better. > You might want to try a massage.
