Guest guest
Hi All, Sometimes it is hard to estimate your daily oil and fat intake. The best way is to work on elimination or how long a tub of butter / margarine / jar of mayonnaise / bottle of oil / etc lasts in days then divide the original contents by the time in day then by the people in the house. This will give you a good but rough idea as to daily intake. As an example 500 ml of extra virgin olive oil lasts us about 8 weeks or 56 days and there are 2.5 people in our house (part time daughter) so we would get an average of 500 ml / 56 days / 2.5 people = 3.5 g of extra virgin olive oil a day. You can use this method for many foods and get good analytical results from using software packages like DWIDP and KIM. ======================== Good Health & Long Life, Greg Watson, gowatson USDA database (food breakdown) http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/ PubMed (research papers) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi DWIDP (nutrient analysis) http://www.walford.com/dwdemo/dw2b63demo.exe KIM (omega analysis) http://ods.od.nih.gov/eicosanoids/KIM_Install.exe
