Studies have consistently shown that heavy consumers of soft drinks (with or without sugar) spill huge amounts of calcium, magnesium and other trace minerals into the urine. Guest guest
Mercola is unwittingly providing further justification for taking supplements, if he believes that minerals are pouring out of the body's reservoirs and dumping into the distilled water we drink. Mercola is sometimes right, sometimes wrong, mostly in between. He's the sort of doctor that feels compelled to explain " everything, " and without error. He, and all the rest of us, ought to know it's impossible for anyone to do that. Nutrition is a vastly complex process; let's keep looking, and not worry so much about absolutely air tight explanantions. The school of " Hygienic " eating, probably favors distilled water, because they, and I think justifiably, believe that the water supply has become so polluted, everywhere, that its foolish to trust yourself to it. Many doctors even some that enthusiastically favor the of eating flesh foods, for example, are at least as concerned about the contamination, when they tell us to eat the minimum amount of fish, consistent with our health aims, as they are with strictly nutritional concerns. - " Pamela Southall " <southallp Saturday, November 17, 2001 1:49 PM Re: Dr. Mercola/distilled water > --- the desert_rat <ron wrote: > > Hi Elaine, > > I agree with you on Mercola but in his denunciation > > of distilled water > > he also touts Chet Day who just happens to sell > > filter equip. > > Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. > > > Dr. Mercola also offers the following enlightenment > regarding distilled water: > > " The most toxic commercial beverages that people > consume (i.e. cola beverages and other soft drinks) > are made from distilled water.
