Guest guest
Hi Rob, I knew that already, I am asking if there are any health benefits, i.e. via digestion and/or metabolism. Thanks again, Deborah The Netherlands Come visit us @ http://birdchild.com or eMail me at deb

Dr. Beiler, M.D., author of Food is Your Best Medicine, believes eggs should only be eaten raw for proper liver metabolism. He considers raw eggs have therapeutic value in the diet. Depleted adrenal glands, for example, can often be rapidly rebuilt by the ingestion of raw egg yolks, which are rich in lecithin, a phospholypoid. The yolks supply the needed phosphorus. I have included raw eggs in my diet for years. Pam Find the one for you at Personals http://personals.
Guest guest
It's EGG NOG time. Beat the devil out of them up thick and foamy then add whatever type milk or sustitute you use, and your Vanilla etc and sweetner of choice, nutmeg, cinamon and clove stir and drink up to the New Year. They make it with raw eggs and sell it in stores so eating them raw shouldn't be anything bad. happy Holidays for all Mary Pamela Southall <southallp Gettingwell Saturday, November 17, 2001 8:27 PM Re: Raw eggs? --- Deb <deb wrote: > Hi Rob, > > I knew that already, I am asking if there are any > health benefits, i.e. via > digestion and/or metabolism. > Hi Debora! Guest guest
<<They make [egg nog] with raw eggs and sell it in stores so eating them raw shouldn't be anything bad.>> Commercial products containing eggs will use pasteurized eggs only. <<I am asking if there are any health benefits, i.e. via digestion and/or metabolism.>> Scrambling the egg yolk introduces lipid peroxidases, a free radical. Consuming the egg raw, or not breaking the yolk during cooking, avoids high levels of free radical peroxidases. Rob
Guest guest
My father-in-law had (egg nog) raw egg beat and added to hot milk almost every day of his life from about age 25 - my husband also did this for many years - neither had any ill-effects from the pratice.
