Guest guest
Mindy and All If you wish to learn of part of the Omega 3/6 problem, you must read the history of how we were lied to by our own government/FDA. This should be required reading by those concerned with their own health and that of their children. http://www.WestonAPrice.org/facts_about_fats/oiling.html Best Wishes Rick Mindy Behymer wrote: > Can you elaborate? Whatever happened in the past is not happening now. The US National Institute for Health, the American Heart Association and other organizations have all got on the more Omega 3 and less Omega 6 bandwagon. With respect, we learn all the time and I do believe the medical authorities in the past did what they thought was right. Too bad the article doesn't mention Omega 3s or the big change blowing through the halls of power. The NIH KIM software is one example of the Omega 3 is better change. Guest guest
Sorry Greg I disagree that what happened in the past has not changed today!! The sales of hydrogenated oils in products is as strong as ever - if not more than ever. There is not enough government warnings to even slow down sales of hydrogenated products. Cheap food is apparently more important than their health. Guest guest
True Rick, I am amazed at how many people i mention hydrog. to do not know what i'm talking about. What's worse is it goes in one ear & etc. Maybe, as Greg is saying, the bandwagon will eventually get heard. ron _____________ Get the FREE email that has everyone talking at http://www.mail2world.com <> > > Richard Muenzer > 11/17/2001 4:50:32 PM > Gettingwell > Re: omega 3 and omega 6 > > Sorry Greg > > I disagree that what happened in the past has not changed today!! > The sales of hydrogenated oils in products is as strong as ever - if not > more than ever. Last time I looked at the supermarket margarine shelfs, ALL of the products had trans levels < 0.5 % Bad health is a big drain of the government purse. No one is going to feed folks food which will put up health cost. Greg

No one is going to feed folks food which will put up health cost.>> Hi Greg, You're kidding, right? Maybe the code word in the above statement is " food " (i.e, there's lots of " non-foods " for sale and happily consumed). Here's a start: * fast food * processed food * white flour * sugar and sugar substitutes * margarine and other hydrogenated fats * vegetable oil, especially heated vegetable oil * excess starches (bread, pasta, potatoes, rice) * soft drinks * fruit juices * milk * " manufactured " meat like hot dogs * donuts, cakes, pastries... And on and on, Rob
Guest guest
Hi Greg Good to hear folks down under have been educated and choose wisely. Here in the USA we have the " best politicians money can buy " and Monsanto, Proctor & Gamble and many others have paid a pretty penny for them. There will never be any educational program to tell people how for over 50 years they have been slowly destroying peoples immune systems with hydrogenated/trans fats. The multi trillion dollar fast and processed food industry as well as the multi trillion dollar heart disease and cancer industry has to much vested interest to let people know what they are really doing. Plus maybe they think it is a good way to solve the over population problem. It is up to all of you to educate people through a grass roots movement.
