Guest guest
Hello, Christiane Northrup writes in " Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom " , that " Dopamine...is enhanced by eating protein. So if you find yourself craving a steak from time to time, you may need dopamine. " She does not state if it is the protein, (as in the perfectly combined vegetarian protein of beans and rice), or if it must be protein from meat. I haven't been able to find any studies that provide a clue as to what she is referring to. Can anyone help me here? Thanks, Hilary
Guest guest
Hillary: She is probably referring to " amino acid therapy " .... some of the amino acids are precursers to the brains neurotransmiters, such as " dopamine " and " seritonin " . They use " free form amino acids " and some vitamins and minerals, to build the neurotransmitters, as the therapy. Check out http://www.thewayup.com this Dr. uses this type of therapy. She wrote a book which you can download off her site, that is really good. She is a psychiatrist, who has been using nutritional therapy for 25 years. <<<< Christiane Northrup writes in " Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom " , that " Dopamine...is enhanced by eating protein.
