Are there any good 'remedies 'relief' for lower back ache???

I have had a lower back ache (brought on by clearing tree branches)

for over a week off and on. I have tried arnica, nuprin, minor yoga

exercises, heating pad (relief) and lots of water.

Just thought maybe there was something else I could do.

Thanks for all the info I have already read through all the posts!

I had back pain so bad I had to roll of the couch or out of bed. I got

rid of mine years ago taking chelated magnesium, at least 500 mg/day

until the pain subsides. A few days should do it if the pain is in the

muscles and you don't have some other problem. We're all short on

Magnesium so unless you have a bad kidney problem it should be OK to

try. Start lower, if you wish.

I believe my problem was calcium precipitated into the soft tissue due

to many years of drinking lots of milk. There needs to be a balance. I

am no authority on anything, just a layman who got results.

Thanks Loren,

I am taking magnesium 400 of Twinlab, caps. It says from mag oxide and

mag aspartate. Does anyone know if the chelate would be better?

I will also try rubbing Apple Cider vinegar.

Thanks all,

Joanne

I think magnesium oxide, much cheaper, is not so well absorbed. But

maybe if you have plenty of stomach acid. My preparation had some B6

with it. I would go as high as 1,000 for a while as that is recommended

by some doctors. Takes out kidney stones as well, so I read. I'm no

authority.

Yes, try placing a magnet on the area that is sore. Most pains

disappear within 20 minutes. I actually used my refrigerator

magnet to try it out, then later bought one.

Hi Joanne,

Try:

1) 500 mg glucosamine twice a day to rebuild / thicken cartridge.

2) 2 - 4 Omega 3 EPA + DHA capsules to relieve pain and inflammation.

Wow, such great information I am receiving.

Isn't there differences with brands of glucosamines?

Also with the Omega 3?

I was just going to get magnesium orotate.

Magnet? Any kind?

Thanks once again.....

Joanne

Only in what they are chemically bound to. Not enough to worry about. Just use

a well known brand.

I have been using 500 mg twice a day for about 2 years now and my joints are

like a young guy. No pain after exercicing

/ sport.

Again use a well known brand.

Dear JoAnne,

If the back pain is in the center of the back and it is from a

slipped (herniated) disc, there is a good chance it is from too

little copper. Shell fish and liver are the richest sources of

copper. You can see a further discussion of getting copper from food

at; http://members.tripod.com/~charles_W/copper3.html

MSM, methylsulfonylmethane, Usually gives instant relief and initiates healing.

An economical source is www.msm-msm.com.

Chuck

I poured Spot remover on my dog. Now he's gone.
