Guest guest
part of original message: I was thinking of trying this along with the Dessicated Thyroid Gland and I was wondering if any of you know anything about any of this and if it sounds like a good idea or a waste of money. --------------- Hi Arizona. I know a number of people who have used raw thyroid to get their thryroid back up and running. The most recent story is a friend who went to an MD who wanted to put her on prescription thyroid. She said no, that she wanted to do the raw thyroid instead. He told her it was not good, that it was not consistent in potency, etc. And she held her ground. She got some raw thyroid and took it for a month and went back in for a test and her thyroid was normal, much to the doctors chagrin. She continued for another month and slowly tapered off and her thyroid has remained stable since. Apparently, it just needed a boost. Others that I know take it more long term and find it works well. The trick is to find thyroxin free raw thyroid, so that you do not replace the function of the thyroid, but rather just strengthen the thyroid to do it's own job well. Hope that helps. For me however, it is not, because raw thyroid is not stable and from day to day it will differ in potency. I need consistent amount everyday and stability because I have no thyroid and I had cancer. If my tsh level become unstable the cancer can grow back...Kim
