Hi there,

does anyone know of a good diuretic ??

Have been trying to get rid of arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and

fibromyalgia for about 6 months now using homeopathy, unfortunately, one (or

more) of the remedies caused water retention, and in about a 2-3 week

period, i put on 28 lbs.

I have tried parsley tea/capsules, Vitamin B6, and celery capsules, none of

them worked.

I am currently taking,

Udo's oil, 2T.

Flax-seed oil, 2T.

Omega 3 fish oil caps 1000mg, 1x.

Vitamin B complex forte, 1x.

Vitamin B12, 1x.

Cod liver oil caps, 1x.

Magnesium chelate 750, 1x.

Essential oil of cloves, 2 drops, and lastly, as from yesterday, Kombucha

tea.

Was also taking kefir daily, till my grains packed a sad.

I also take, for 5 days a month, double the dose of Acidophilus caps.

Sure hope someone can help, as i would like to shed some of this weight

before Christmas.

Regards, Dorothy.

Yes I have a good list Dandilion, 2T lemon in a glass

of water 3 times a day, Nettle tea twice a day and

corn silk try and one of these or a combination of any

of them. I have used all and know they work.

For your arthritis take a third of a teaspoon of

ground ginger 3 times a day and keep going befor you

quit for at least 2 months. Ginger makes a lovely tea

sweetened with a little raw honey.

For me it's MSM. It makes me wee constantly. I cannot take it last thing

at might for this reason. My hair has stopped falling out so much, and my

nails look good!

Dear Marianne,

thank you, i was the one who originally started this post.

Are you sure the above is not rocket fuel. (hee hee hee) <G>

I actually asked at the h/f shop on sunday if they had any msm she said yes,

but that it certainly wasn't a diuretic.

So far i am having tea's made from s/nettle, dandelion, and parsley, plus

some gr/ginger, then sweetened with honey. But it is NOT working, i have put

on another 4 lb, that is a whopping 32 lb in all. Don't suppose you know of

something that might help, do you ?? PLEASE !!!!!!

Regards, Dorothy.

Low carb diets can be diuretic... hrmm, what else?

Are you having any other difficulties such as fatigue or hair loss? Sometimes

women with thyroid disorders can put on a lot of weight in a very short amount

of time...

Dear Dorothy,

Somewhere back aways I think I saw a message in which you

mentioned fibromyalgia. If so you should be careful should you

consider taking potassium supplements. A woman was paralyzed by

supplements even though her blood potassium was normal (5.0 meq).

I suspect that when magnesium is deficient the blood potassium rises

even though the cell potassium is low, and the body " thinks " it has

hyperkalemia. Since it can take up to 6 months to relieve a magnesium

deficiency even in normal people, I suspect that one should precede

potassium with magnesium, and maybe never excess potassium if you

have fibromyalgia.

Sincerely, Charles Weber

Hi Dorothy

Sometime back I remember a study done (sorry I cannot quote it) about wheat

and fluid retention. In the study, a number of women were taken off wheat

for 3 months. After 3 months they were given one piece of toast at supper

time.

A good number of them had got up the next morning to discover that they had

put on 3-4 kilos over night! Just a thought that you might like to

consider.

Get your thyroid checked - I started to gain weight just like you and it is

down to a thyroid problem (they cannot tell me what yet but I am reliably

informed by one of the groups that it could be hashimoto, both hyper &

hypothyroidism) - have you tried a homeopath?
