Dirt is exactly what some people are looking at for health. >What are HSOsä (Homeostatic Soil Organisms)? >The main component of this unique formula is the original proprietary >beneficial bacteria (HSOä) used for over 20 years. We've been looking at the above product, Primal Defense (probiotic), but it has grass juice in it so we probably won't try it. (I had a very bad reaction to Green Magma.) http://www.risingstarlc.com/pddisc.htm#what But there is a theory as well about kids getting asthma from being in too clean environments. I don't know if I buy it, but it is interesting considering that this thread started as asthma and allergies. http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/health/newsid_1172000/1172085.stm http://www.enn.com/enn-features-archive/2000/09/09202000/asthma_30736.asp Don't we live in an amazing world? Guest guest
My mother was of the old school and she claimed that a child needed to eat at least a pound of dirt in order to grow up healthy. I have an old medical textbook that discusses the need for minerals and such in terms of how 'clean' the environment is of dirt. We are of this planet - its dirt, rocks, bacteria, viruses, water, minerals, etc. Namaste, Liz
