Guest guest
Hi all- I am sort of taking a survey. Both for my own use and for educational uses. What are the supplemtns you all take, and why? I appreciate your feedback. My short list: An acidophilous/pro-biotice mixture Thorne Phytogen (immune building from my ND) Natural Progesterone Creme (2 wks a month) And I take Vita-Natal as a multi and also Iron. I am sad to say those 2 I do not always remember to take daily. I am figuring out what all I need to add to my regime tro help with clearing my candida (along with positive diet changes). I also drink green tea regularly... Guest guest
Sindea Do you realise that Progesterone can feed candida? My candida went ballastic when I used Pro. cream. Its like a sugar to the candida... Also be very careful with those types of creams. I know Dr lee recommends them, but you have to make sure which hormone is out of balance and not just guess. Not saying that you have done this, I just know that Progesterone can be a problem to most with candida, and not necessarily the cure for all ills. I am hormonally imbalanced, but need Estrogen, not Progesterone. Dr Lee certainly put me wrong on that one. It has taken me over a year to get my candida back to where I was before the cream. Still haven't completely. It has made me very cautious as to what I take now. Just for your records I take: MSM Calcium and magnesium Homozon That's it at present..... I was taking Digestive Aid, but they GAVE me indigestion.... stopped them... I obviously don't need HA. Guest guest
Hi, Hmmm if I feel 'something' coming on I usually take one Echinacea/Goldenseal before bedtime. When I get up I feel fine. Kelp to help my Thyroid. MSM to help with general aches and pains. Bach's Rescue Remedy when I am feeling stressed. ~Sally > favorite supplements? > > > > Hi all- > > I am sort of taking a survey. Guest guest
Thanks for the info! I do know I am low in progesterone, however did not know it could cause problems with candida? Can you explain how it affects it? Meaning, how exactly does it 'feed' it? Do you know where I could find info on this? This is not something I would have done on my own, I believe you need to be careful with hormones. But it is like night and day how different- and better- I feel using the progesterone... thanks again! I'm wary of estrogen supplements because I keep hearing about some " estrogen dominance " theory going around... I dunno if it's true or not. But I *can* tell you this - progesterone cream cured me of the painful dyspareunia that I'd suffered from for four VERY long years!! Also, I'd heard that progesterone cream helps candida go away, but estrogen irritates it and feeds it. -- Mindy ----------------------- " ...that they may be one... Guest guest
Mindy I don't take supplements either. I did that and got a funny benign lump under one breast. My energy increased, and I felt better, but had signs of other things that were not good. I am still undecided as to what to do, but I do know I lack Estrogen, NOT Progesterone. Especially after I gave birth. I couldn't have sex until I got my period again (sorry guys), and then the problem corrected itself overnight. Because I lacked Estrogen, sex was VERY painful. I have heard other women talk the same way. The human body is so complex - it's a shame God didn't leave behind the blueprints of what to do when things go wrong - and Don't tell me he did by telling us to eat green leaves and nuts and seeds. I don't want to become more of a skeleton than I am already! <grin> Tracy - " Mindy Behymer " <mindy Tuesday, 13 November 2001 09:44 Re: favorite supplements? > " sindea.horste " wrote: > > > Thanks for the info!
