I am already taking 2 tablespoons of Udo's oil daily, so how much of the f/s

oil should i take ??

Also, should i mix the f/s oil with cottage cheese ??

TIA.

Hi Dorothy

You live in New Zealand right? All your animal products are from grass

fed animals ? You don't eat processed american foods with hydrogenated oil?

You don't use to much oleic acid (olive oil)? You probably don't need

supplemental EFAs. IMHO Udo's has to much oleic acid, you only need

10% or less of your EFA intake in oleic acid. Although a couple tblsp.

a day of flax oil in cottage cheese would be a good maintenance dose.

Therapeutic doses are 4 or more tblsp. w/cottage cheese taken 2 x 2.

Hi Rick,

Yes, along with other stuff, but don't ask me what, we don't get told a lot

here. Though this year we were told that they were going stop giving

antibiotics to beef, so that is something.

Olive oil is good for you I have read several articals

stating it is especially good for males to keep

prostate cancer at bay. But it must be cold pressed

virgin.

Okay, what part do I not know here? If one is taking Udo's Choice

oil, then why would there be a need to also take flax seed oil? I

thought Udo's, & also Omega Nutrition's Essential Balance, oils were

supposed to cover all the EFA bases?

As a side note, just my own personal preference, though I prefer

Omega Nutrition's oils over Barleans. Would it helped if I said I am

a resident of Whatcom County where they are produced? I have

purchased from both companies for years.

Hi Peg

Olive oil is oleic acid (omega 9) and can be beneficial if

the intake of the keys omega 3 and 6 is adequate. However

omega 9 can displace the critical omega 3 in cells. If there is an

inadequate intake of omega 3 and to much omega 9 you end

up with the imbalance in the cells which can trash the immune

system. This is why i said that all diseases are simply symptoms

of a trashed immune system.

IMHO, these two would be adequate for healthy ppl.

Ppl who have autoimmune diseases, (such as rheumatoid

arthritis, lupus, MS), IBD, skin disorders, mood

disorders etc, need to take therapeutic doses of the

EFA's. By taking several sources of the EFA's

(including fish oils) they are better helped.

Sindea, you can put the Udo's Choice and the flax

seen oil over salads, with cottage cheese, in protein

shakes, etc. I think it's tasty mixed with yogurt and

used as a salad dressing. Cod Liver Oil is very nasty

tasting but a couple teaspoons three times a day is so

beneficial. You can take fish oil concentrate in

capsules but you have to take at least 6 a day. As

far as doses, there are many variables to consider.

You must do some research and see what is recommended

for the condition you want to address.
