Guest guest
Dear Group, Everyone takes vitains right? Some say oh yes, I take vitamin E or I take vitamin C or I already take a multi vitamin and I dont feel anything....ergo...so it must not be working, right? Have you ever heard of vitamins being used for or in place of pharmacuetical medicine? Does anyone out there know how many substances are necessary to take into your body to sustain life and let your systems function normally. How many are you sure you are getting? Im asking about vitamins, minerals, amino acids etc? Do you think you can get them from your food? Do you think you can get them from your multi- vitamin pill? How do you determine the optimum dosage for each? Some people take 100 mgs of vitaminC while others 10,000mg of C or more per day. They both think they are taking adequite C daily. Does anyone know how many substances your liver makes for your body at any given time. Are the daily nutritional requirements about the same for most people?? Guest guest
Hi Frank Have you checked out the web page: http://www.gsdl.com/assessments/fattyacids/appguide/index.html and all 5 pages of the EFA story?? After studying these pages you will begin to understand how extremely important the balance and intake of EFAs is. They control almost all metabolic functions including vitamin absorption. Guest guest
Dear Rick, Yes, I have read them. I think they are great. Thank you for bring them to the attention of he group. For others in the group, these pages were done by Great Smokies Labs. They do lab tests for nutritional screening. Like amino acids, EFA's, and many others not usually available from your local lab. A lot of natural healing practicioners use them for diagnosing and treatment clues. Guest guest
Hi Frank, I take vitamin C everyday, and this will last until the baby I'm carrying is born. It's summer in New Zealand (ha! You wouldn't think so judging by the rain!) and it's HAY FEVER season for me and countless others. I take the vitamin C because it HELPS IMMENSELY with my hay fever i.e./ I take it once a day in the morning. By the end of the day, if I haven't taken my vitamin C, I am one big sneezing wreck with tissues up my nose and too scared to go out in public for fear of sneezing all the time and then conversations get interrupted as I reach for yet another tissue....not fun at all. When I take the vitamin C in the morning, then I'm lucky if I sneeze three times in a day. Plus, it doesn't dry up my sinuses like regular antihistamines. I CAN HAVE A LIFE!!!!! You can't take regular OTC antihistamines when you are pregnant so I've resorted to vit C for this reason. I only get hay fever this bad when I'm pregnant it seems. I take 2000mg of vitamin C. It's a vitamin C that's been made especially for those with allergies etc. Otherwise, I generally give most vitamins a miss, or only take them for a specified period of time. Like biotin for example. Being a Candida sufferer I took biotin to help for about one month to help heal the digestive tract. I was taking biotin in conjunction with lots of other stuff and doing a diet as well but I reckon it worked. I don't get bloated or feel awful after eating food, I just feel normal instead of like poisoned or something. Enough from me! Guest guest
Hello, Sorry to jump in here. I firmly believe that with the introduction of Genetically Engineered foods into our food supply, it is virtually impossible to obtain most vital nutrients from our foods, unless one eats entirely Organic!!! Pesticides and other additives interfere with the daily absorption of nutrients. Also the nutrient levels are compromised by deficient mineral content of the soils wherein they are grown!
