Guest guest
I have had some bad back problems for a couple of months now and have just bought myself an expensive new mattress. Last night was the first time I slept on it and my back felt wonderful. BUT - I spend the whole night with my ears screaming, heart pounding, insides shaking. All the same stuff I used to get so badly when I had severe chemical reactions. Could it be the contents of the mattress. Do any of you have any experience with this and what can be done. I know there used to be formaldihyde in most mattresses but I am not sure whether that is still the case. Most allergy sites I have looked at only address the dust mites isssue. I have to do something because I cannot go sleepless too much longer. Thanks for any input. Erica
Guest guest
Erica, You need to know what the mattress is made of and any chemicals that have been added. I would ask about any fire retardant. Guest guest
Erica, Go to where you bought the mattress. If Sears or some reputable place as such, they should accomodate you with this. Get name of company and where it was made etc. Tell them you can't sleep on it and what it does. Next time get a SPRING WALL MATTRESS. It was developed by the National Chiropractic Assoc for your back. I have had one for 20 yrs, ( which they say is the life of a mattress) but I am still using it. I also have back trouble but I couldn't sleep on any other one. Great sleeping. Maybe the suplier will refund your money, get a check on the mattress as what is in it, and further wanyt to see that you are comfortable as his bussiness could suffer due to this. Guest guest
If you can't get your money back, consider going to the www.SharperImage.com site, go to their auction site and bid on a Ionic Air Purifier. Look at the advertising but I'll bet it'll take the chemicals out of the air. Check to be sure before bidding. I got two: one for $65, one for $85 instead of the usual hundreds each.
