Guest guest
Thank you I have been looking for papers on the synergistic effects of herbs for quite a while now. Two semesters ago I mentioned the concept of synergy to my botany teacher and he had a field day in putting me down for believing such foolishness! He said to me, " have you seen any scientific evidence on this effect? " and I had to hold my tongue. Now I have at least somewhere to start. Guest guest
Dear David, This teacher is a bit behind the times. . . .try the work of such authors as Brian Godwin (How the Leopard Changed Its Spots) for a start. Biology is undergoing a profound renaissance at the present time. Again. . .. .Chinese medicine has its own inherent scientific logic, from within the discipline. . . .many of these concepts are unknown to Western scientists. But look in this text for examples of 'synergy', albeit under different terminology. > " David Russell " <dcrussell > >Thank you >I have been looking for papers on the synergistic effects of herbs for quite >a while now. Guest guest
Z'ev I believe the author's name is Goodwin; that is where I found it in my public library database. Thanks for your great book suggestions. My library has ordered the kuriyama book already, too.

Guest guest
Greetings Elaine The supplements you are taking sound fine. The medications are scary. My only comment is What are you Eating? How much sugar, flour? Try to eliminate all processed food. How about taking some flaxseed, or flaxseed oil, some Cod liver oil, some canned Alaska salmon, and only fresh produce and meat that you cook yourself--as little as possible --including rare meat. >Hi, > Just me again.Wanted to let you all know what my health " problems " are and let you know what all I have been taking in the way of supplements.Don't know if I did this before or not(one problem is brain-fog).OK, here goes...Fibromyalgia,arthritis,scoliosis,sciatica, asthma,year-round allergies,acid-reflux,and up until 3yrs ago yearly bouts with bronchitis and pneumonia and just a few weeks ago double pneumonia. After 3yrs of being bronch & pneum free I got " Steamrollered " and hospitalized.I was so PO'd at my body for betraying me yet again. Anyhow to my list:MSM,Artichoke,Dandelion Rt,Garlic, Kelp, zinc, bee pollen, kava kava, feverfew, cayenne, vit c,echinacea, cat's claw,Blue Green Algea,boswellia,glucosamine/chondroitin,chelated potassium, hawthorne berry, pycnogenol, flaxseed oil,selenium,b-50,cranberry,DHEA,co q 10,milk thistle, butcher's broom, green tea, black cohosh, bilberry, spirulina, chromium picolinate,a women's multi and a menopause supplement. Now my question is should I quit taking any of these or add anything different(I am checking into Kombucha). Also,I could not find the Willard Water in the Swanson catalog that I have,is it only on the web site? I am also taking these rx meds...prilosec,baclofen,neurontin,vioxx,remeron,zyrtec and guaifenesin.I know I'm probably overdoing it in some areas so any suggestions are welcome.
