Thinking about it makes my stomach hurt, but she was one tough cookie... even bounced back from kidney failure when she was 89. I used to think that cod liver oil would make me old like her...lol. I don't drink distilled tho; I drink purified. I also take coral calcium. Both the sea salt and calcium have minerals in it. I've tried adding liquid ionic minerals, but it doesn't seem to agree with me. BTW, it say right on the bottle " people with kidney or liver disease should consult their physicin befor using this or any other mineral product. " Anybody know what's that all about? People who are sick usually, if not always, have some kind of a disfuntional liver! Gail
Guest guest
Marlena, Living in a backward area is a blessing in my opinion, wish I could move there. The green drink that I take comes from American Botanical Pharmacy (1-800-437-2362). This is the company run by Richard Schulze, its pretty expensive 30.00 for 14 oz but if you can order 400.00 it drops down to 19.00. The alfalfa and other stuff is high in organic vitamin & minerals that the body can use. I took expensive vitamin pills for years and could never really tell if they were helping me, with this stuff you know its working. The herbs that I add to this drink comes from www.herbsfirst.com , I just break open the caps of Calc-Tea and Kelp-T, these are herbal formulas and very high in Silica. You can do a search on Google for " Superfood " or " green drinks " and get lots of info. Another one that I am looking is made by www.gardenoflife.cc called Perfect food and www.florahealth.com makes one. I also take a Product called Primal Defense from Garden Of Life and Flor-Essence from Flora. The cheapest place I have found to buy online is www.doctorstrust.com . They don't have everything that I use but what they do have is sold at a deep discount. If you are interested in herbs, there is lots of good info at the Herbs First site, click on newsletters. John Christopher was a Master herbalist and spent his entire life studying and educating about herbs. Guest guest
Gail, You make me think(i had to say that because i know that you can't smell the smoke it makes). If the body is not getting minerals it needs from some place obviously it will become depleted. This depletion will not be " caused " by white flour or other refined de-mineralized products or by de-minerlized water but simply by the body using up it's store without replacement. The body loves h2o2 and if it has trace minerals in it so much the better? ron _____________ Get the FREE email that has everyone talking at http://www.mail2world.com <> > > Gail Naranjo > 10/27/2001 8:10:06 PM > Gettingwell > DISTILLED WATER > > > > - > > " Thomas Smith " > > To: > > Saturday, October 27, 2001 6:11 PM > > RE: Re: DISTILLED WATER > > > > > >>Will distilled water leach out minerals needed by the body? > > > These are questions that I can't answer and after a little research, I > > don't > > > think anybody else can either.>> > > Hi Tom, > > Well, can't say that I can answer it either, but.....what I do is eat celtic > sea salt with my water. Guest guest
Thanks Tom, you've given me another direction to go in to find the nutrients my body needs in a more natural form. I really appreciate that. Guest guest
I had Culligan for over 20 years, and I was informed to have it connected to hot water only; not to drink it, cook with it, or water plants or fish with it. It is a water softener only. - cking001 Friday, October 26, 2001 1:35 PM Gettingwell Re: Re: DISTILLED WATER Not clear at all. Hard water has been shown to be heart protective. As far as soft water goes, I dont think you are talking about commercially softened water, but I wouldn't drink it on a bet. I have a neighbor who showed me his tomatoe plant starts one year, and they were all withered and dead or dying. It turned out that he had been watering them with water softened by a Culligan system that had recently been installed. Distilled water wouldn't worry me. Guest guest
Distilled water wouldn't worry me. Chuck I have to disagree..<smile> I was drinking distilled water and was not feeling great. The herbalist I was going to was horrified. he said NOT to drink it, as not only did it not have minerals, but that it also leeached minerals OUI of our bodies. -- Dr. Ann...living in Maine family therapist, retired animal conversationalist
Guest guest
Dr. Ann, If tap water had a balance of absorbable (underline) minerals it would be fine. We all know what chems. and pollutants are in many public water supplies in addition to the undesireable minerals. Distilled water is just fine as long as you are getting sufficient absorbable minerals. This is probably only possible with supplementation since most of our food is of a denatured nature. Distilled water leaching seems to be more rumer than fact. Some people say so but are unable to back it up with research of any kind. Guest guest
I used to think the same. I've since come to the conclusion that the jury is still out on this. I don't use distilled as my water source, but I wouldn't be concerned if it was. Chuck It's never too late to have a happy childhood !
