" Tainted " because it was produced from a genetically engineered source of

whatever (I forget) is used to obtain it. This might have been the first

deaths from GE foods.

One company in AZ still sells it. I posted the details yesterday.

Incidentally, there is a book that says that if one supplements with a

combination of tryptophan, copper and folic acid....called fresh

prozac...they will get the benefits without the side effects. If I ever

think of the name of the book I'll let you know.

There's info about tryptophan at www.biochemicals.com

L-Tryptophan is an amino acid that helps with sleep, anxiety and depression.

It was a $60MM seller until a company in Japan released a tainted batch that

killed several people. The FDA banned tryptophan even though it was only one

company's tainted product. " Coincidentally " Prozac started a major PR

campaign the next day. Sales went through the roof.

Now it is years later and you can still not buy this amino acid for regular

public consumption. You can, however, buy this product from veterinary

sources. Go figure!!

Ken,

I think it may be available in Canada. Can you tell how long you've been taking

tryptophan and what you feel it has done for you?
