Guest guest
Welcome Carol, There is a lot of help that you can find through essential oils. Beginning with a good Lavender alone can help. Lavender is very soothing for the mind and the emotions which can trigger the Fibromyalgia. Then there's Birch, Marjoram and Spruce which can be really good to ease the muscle pain. From what little I've learned about Fibromyalgia, there are some who attribute it to an acid condition in which the liver is toxic. As the acid condition eases, so can the fibromyalgia. I'm sure that many others on this board can also address this from their points of learning too. Wishing you well in all ways, Lynn carolgos [carolgos] Wednesday, December 01, 1999 1:19 AM carolgos Hi everyone, I have Fibromyalgia which causes severe muscle pain and fatigue. I go to massage and physical therapy for the pain relief but I think that learning how to use the essential oils would do wonders for my mental outlook when I am feeling my worst. I would appreciate any feed back, and am always open to suggestions! Thanks for the opportunity to join the group and get to know you all. Guest guest
Hi Moira, Yes an RN is a registered nurse although sometimes I think in order to be in this profession you have to be 'really nuts'. Sher
Guest guest
Hello Everyone, My name is Elaine.I am the 40yr old mother of 4 grown kids, all living in different states.I live in the far NE corner of Illinios in a town called Woodstock. I was dx with fibromyalgia+arthritis 8yrs ago, scoliosis since childhood, sciatica due to a work related injury 5yrs ago.I also have asthma,year-round nasal allergies, acid reflux,IBS(probably related to fibro),RLS also fibro related. I was recently hospitalized with double pneumonia.I am SO into natural ways to heal but have not found the right combo for me.My list is a mile long of the supplements I was taking, prehospital.Advise from a friend and I cut down to about 8 different ones.Haven't noticed any difference except for no hot flashed thanks to my soy blend menopause supplement. I suffer with fibrofog and aphasia so if my spelling and wording starts looking like it comes from a 4yr old, please forgive me.I am hoping for new ideas and remedies cuz I ain't letting this DD defeat me yet!!! I'm not ready to go to bed just to die.I used to work 60+hrs a week, not so anymore,it's enough to put in 40 and go home just to collapse on the couch.I'm a CNA and work in a nursing home. So,am I a hopeless case??? Can I be cured???or at least get to be almost norm again??? Please help. May We All Live To See Pain-Free Days!! Guest guest
You might be a good candidate for Elaine Gottschall's select carbohydrate diet outlined in her book " Breaking the Viscious Cycle - Intestinal Health Through Diet " There is a discussion group called Healing Crow that deals with a lot of the issues you mention and provide support for maintaining a proper diet. Guest guest
Hi: to add to the note about Elaine Gottschall's book, Breaking the Vicious Cycle, there is a group specifically for that diet, called the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, and the group is of course, The Specific Carboydrate Diet group, also from . The author also posts on that list, and also on the Healing Crow list. Their website is http://www.scdiet.org/ The diet is a lifesaver for those with Crohns, Colitis, celiac disease, IBS, IBD and also helps many other problems such as thyroid, fatigue. There are even people on the list whose children with autism have been helped. I have been on it for 3 months and have seen an amazing turnaround after 35 years of suffering with IBS. Check it out, it may help whatever ails you. The diet is closer to the way man evolved in eating. No sugars or starches. If you check out Amazon.com under her book you will see the testimonials for it. Most people that have tried out this diet become almost preachers about it, the results are so amazing. Hope this is of help to anyone with these problems. Ellie W
