Hi. I just joined the group. I have to say right off the bat that I

am very skeptical about herbs and supplements because I tried several

of them in my attempts to treat PWS and they only made me feel

worse. I am open to learning about Vitamins though. But even

vitamins scare me a little because Vitamin B's made my symptoms

worse, so I steer clear of them. I guess I will just read the

messages when I can and see how it goes. :)

Pixie,

Please, don't get discouraged. This is a learning process and there's more to it than reading labels. Taking responsibility for your own health means a nonstop process of searching and learning and trial and error. I have wasted a lot of money on products that did not live up to the claims but there are some very good and effective natural methods we can use to treat disease. The reaction you got from B vitamins was probably because they were derived from yeast and you had a reaction to the yeast. When you use herbs, buy from a company that you can trust, there is a huge difference in quality with herbs. I would suggest that you start by going to www.herbsfirst.com and read the newsletters. John Christopher was a Master Herbalist and you can depend on the quality of the herbs. They have a very good formula for PMS. I think there is a solution for any health problem, we just have to keep searching until we find the answer. I have found, after taking vitamin pills for over ten years that whole food supplements work better for me. It doesn't make sense to me to isolate one part out of a food and leave the rest behind, you can't improve on Mother Nature and we get into trouble when we try. I'll be glad to share with you the limited knowledge I have gained, you can e-mail me personally or post on this board.

Hello,

Many times we forget that it took us years to get to where we are now and we expect an over night miracle. It takes the body 8 months to completely regenerate itself. Have you given anything that long to work. If we continue to go against nature and the way it was intended to work we will just run around the same old mountain. I think there are a lot of good products out there. I think a big part of the problem is we don't try any thing long enough to give it a fair chance. Some times we are so desperate for something, anything to work that we continue to buy the next fad to try. I found that if I sit down and make a plan for myself and use it as a guide for myself it makes it easier. I have also been introduced to the world of kinesiology. If you know of a good chiropractor and he practices kinesiology you have found a gem. Keep this in mind and continue to learn. You know your body better than anyone else in the world so don't settle for the first thing you read about. Put it all together on paper and see what keeps on coming up the most and find out what body system it is and try to find some good nutritionals to support it. Have a wonderful day.

Many Blessings,

Deb
