Guest guest
A quick google search indicates that the common name for the mushroom that provides lentinan is the shitake mushroom available in many grocery stores where I live. They are also available dried and can be mail ordered if you live where they are not available. You can also order an oak log that has been planted with the spoors if you are someone who likes to grow things. They are also available in capsules. Guest guest
Hi Barbara. I use Shiitake , maitake and one more i dont remember the name of hand i think is called raich or reich something like that, i make a ticture with Aplle cider vinegar and take 5 mls 3 times daily, they say the mushrooms contain the beta-glucan ingredient that is good for the immine system. Also you can soak the dry ones in hot water for 1/2 an houre and then use the mushrooms in cooking or salad, plus you can drink the water you soak them in as some of the goodness are left in there. Hope this help you some Barbara. Hugs Mary - barbara elenniss oleander soup Sunday, December 13, 2009 5:47 AM Re: Re: Lentinan Mushroom Shitake mushrooms are really good. I think that you will find that the dried varieties are best as they do not lose their potency as like fresh Mushrooms can. I think the one mushroom you mentioned is reishi.
