Guest guest
Hi This might sound real strange but hey, it might do the trick. Hope it can deter the big C since it is being touted as a fungus now... Cheers, Melly ------------ " Worth trying, since they are available already in our kitchen " In 1919 when the flu killed 40 million people there was this Doctor that visited the many farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu. Many of the farmers and their family had contracted it and many died. The doctor came upon this one farmer and to his surprise, everyone was very healthy. When the doctor asked what the farmer was doing that was different the wife replied that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the rooms of the home, (probably only three rooms or less back then). The doctor couldn't believe it and asked if he could have one of the onions and place it under the microscope. She gave him one and when he did this, he did find the flu virus in the onion. It obviously absorbed the bacteria, therefore, keeping the family healthy. Now, I heard this story from my hairdresser in Arizona. She said that several years ago many of her employees were coming down with the flu and so were many of her customers. The next year she placed several bowls with onions around in her shop. To her surprise, none of her staff got sick. It must work...(And no, she is not in the onion business.) The moral of the story is, buy some onions and place them in bowls around your home. If you work at a desk, place one or two in your office or under your desk or even on top somewhere. Try it and see what happens. We did it last year and we never got the flu. If this helps you and your loved ones from getting sick, all the better. If you do get the flu, it just might be a mild case.. Whatever, what have you to lose? Just a few bucks on onions!!!!!! !!!!!!!! Now there is a P. S. to this--- for I sent it to a friend in Oregon who regularly contributes material to me on health issues. It said the onion would be black in the morning from the germs...sure enough it happened just like that... the onion was a mess and I began to feel better. Guest guest
I would really like to meet a doctor who could "see" a flu virus in 1919. Virologists have trouble today "seeing" or differentiating flu viruses from cellular debris with modern day electron microscopes (see Janine Roberts' "Fear of the Invisible" for a discussion of the problems). In 1919, such a feat would have been impossible. By the way, there is even a debate whether the 1919 "flu" was caused by a virus, some bacteria, or whether it was the result of the extreme nutritional deficiencies and unhygienic conditions in the trenches during the latter part of the 1st World War. You have to cut off an end, according to what I've read. Very, very interesting. I'm going to try it if I ever get sick again. Terri

Guest guest
As the article said, the onion shows it has rotted after absorbing the germs/bacteria. I would choose the firmest onion possible. Also buy such things from farmer's market where produce is newer and fresher. Guest guest
I just got another post about not using fresh leftover onions because they spoil fast and cause food poisoning. Always use fresh cut up onions. The left over onions can be used if you cook it to the hilt. Guest guest
thanks for all the info on the onion and flu, my seven year old has a bad cough and I can hear flem. No fever, no stomach/bowl problems, just this nasty cough, so I peeled, cut in half and put in a dish next to her bed. We will see what happens. What can one give to a young child, like 4 and 7 when they get a cold. School alone makes kids sick. I was a teacher for years and I was always sick. Something about being around lots of little ones. Can a child tak vit C (I do make fresh squeezed OJ) what about D? I have a powdered buffered Vit. C from Life extensions and my little 4 year old always wants to drink it, I let her sip some, but am not sure if it is appropriate for young children. So what does one give to children for a cold? Cheers, Melly------------"Worth trying, since they are available already in our kitchen"In 1919 when the flu killed 40 million people there was this Doctor that visited the many farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu. Guest guest
Hi Barbara! I'm not a doctor but I am a grandma that raised 2 great kids and now I get to help with 3 grandkids! For a cough we always rubbed Vick's vaporub on the bottom of the feet and then cover the feet with socks...I don't know why but this always helps a cough! I have read that here in the US 95% of people are deficient in vitamin D so we follow the recommended 2000iu for kids and 3000 to 4000iu for adults. So far we have not had any problems with the flu. Guest guest
Barbara, You are most welcome and I'm glad you granddaughter feels better! Isn't it wonderful to be a grandmother! I simply love it! We are not getting the flu shot either. There was talk that the US was going to make getting the shot mandatory but several law suits have stopped that. I have my family on silver as well! Yes you can find vitamin D in a liquid form...my daughter simply googled it and found several sites on line. Her son had a hard time with pills too! Our vitamin C's come chewable and flavored so she has no problem with those. Be well!
