Hi folks -

Many of you may have read my article " Success

Against Cancer and HIV in South Africa " which is

part of the oleander series of articles I have written. In that article I

reported how the oleander based Sutherlandia OPC supplement designed by South

African HIV and cancer crusader and researcher Marc Swanepoel had been

virtually 100% successful in stabilizing and reversing HIV symptoms and over

90% successful against a broad range of cancers.

As a result of this success with several hundred people over the past almost

four years, Mr. Swanepoel devised a clinical trial to measure the effectiveness

of his supplement ingredients (the common oleander plant, nerium oleander, and

the South Africa Cancer Bush, sutherlandia frutescens) against HIV as part of

his doctoral thesis.

I am extremely happy and excited to report that the clinical trial has

concluded and that the results are as impressive as the previous reports.

Although the final report is still being printed at his university, Mr.

Swanepoel has been kind enough to share a summary of his dissertation and I

have put it on my website with the following link:

I do not know such details yet, except that only difference between

the control and study groups was the placebo versus the real supplement.

Normally a healthy diet and lifestyle are recommended to anyone who

purchases the OPC.

As soon as I get the complete study I will share it with everyone.

I have noticed that a number of people have responded to Tony's publication of the summary of my PhD thesis.

The following information is relevant:

(1) I am not affiliated with any institution. I have been interested in alternative medicine for the past 30 years especially as it relates to cancer. This has resulted in my doing a PhD course at Clayton College, Alabama for the past 4 years. Although Stephen Barret of Quackwatch, a deregistered MD (see http://www.quackpotwatch.org/quackpots/quackpots/barrett.htm) has some derogatory remarks about Clayton College, the following excerpt form Dr Hull's website (http://www.janethull.com/askdrhull/article.php?id=063) convinced me to choose that institution. There are no educational institutions in South Africa that provide training in Natural Health. Finding an accredited institution to do such a degree is a next to impossible task, given the fact that the accreditation must be done by a State/Government institution which, in principle, is not in favor of any alternative treatments.

Is Clayton College An Accredited University?

Clayton College of Natural Health is a non-traditionally accredited distance education college. The organizations that accredit the college are private associations that offer professional accreditation in naturopathy, holistic nutrition and other areas of natural health. As such, they are designed to meet the needs of non-traditional education and are not affiliated with any government agency. Clayton College is licensed by the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. For those students seeking education in holistic nutrition, the PhD in Holistic Nutrition with Clayton College has been approved by the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (http://www.nanp.org). Graduates of this program qualify to become registered with the NANP and are eligible to sit for the national credentialing examination that they offer. The International Organization of Nutritional Consultants (http://www.ionc.org) in Canada lists Clayton College as an approved school. Graduates of the Masters in Holistic Nutrition and PhD in Holistic Nutrition programs qualify to apply for membership with the organization. Among the esteemed graduates of Clayton College of Natural Health are Frankie Avalon Wolf, Ann Louise Gittleman, Jonny Bowden, and Marie Miczak.

(2) I also have a B.Sc degree in Maths and Physics form the University of Pretoria and a B.A degree in Psychology and Philosophy form the University of South Africa, both State accredited institutions. If you Google my name (Marc Swanepoel) you will see that I have some publications on Economics that have been translated into a number of languages.

(3) The clinical study was a double blind, placebo controlled study at a registered AIDS clinic and the blood tests were done by registered pathology labs.

(4) The participants were patients attending the clinic and they were not on any special diets. The herbal mix was given to the patients in a commercially available soy/milk product with vitamins added. The patients receiving the placebo got only the soy/milk product without the herbal mix. None of the patients knew what they were getting. The fact that the soy/milk product contained vitamins and was a health drink did not benefit the placebo patients as can be seen from the graphs.

I will provide the full thesis to Tony within the near future.
