Today(Monday, December 3, 2007) is the last day for public comment on the

proposed rule for regulating the growing, processing, and shipping of greens. I

have listed the links for offering public comment

(http://www.soystache.com/saveourgreens.htm). I have also listed hundreds of

email addresses to USDA staff, as well as other contact information. There is

also a link for finding and contacting your congresspersons. On a second page

(http://www.soystache.com/saveourgreens2.htm) is the actual text of the

proposed rule. Official text of the proposed rule is also available during the

comment submission process.

 

 

Please take a moment to submit your comments. Consider also emailing your

comments to others. The sale of truly raw almonds has already been restricted.

While we do not know the exact intentions behind this proposal, if we wait till

that is clear, it will likely be too late. We need to voice our concerns now. It

is better to overreact than to allow our freedoms to be removed little by little

(or a lot by a lot!) We found out about the almond issue too late. We can still

offer our comments regarding this issue (an opportunity not given to us with the

almond issue).

 

 

If all they want to do is eliminate the spraying of fresh manure, that is one

thing, but this ruling has the potential to do a lot more damage to our

life-giving foods!
