Guest guest
Most traditional naturopaths do not consider something like this a victory. There is a lot at work behind the scenes that most have no idea about. Licensing naturopaths will not protect but allow the government to regulate. Be aware that things are not always as they " seem. " Does licensing make good doctors or protect people? Hardly. Just another way to take away health freedom. Be Well Loretta info(Illinois Assoc. of Naturopathic Physicians) Fri, Nov 9, 2007, 8:00pm (CST+1) Success HR 416 passage Success!! House Resolution 416 passed!! On Friday, Nov. 2nd, the Illinois House of Representatives unanimously passed House Resolution 416 establishing a Task Force to study licensure of naturopathic physicians. This resolution is a big step towards licensure in that it commits the legislature to studying the case for licensure in IL, will acquaint them with our educational institutions, and keeps us on the agenda during a huge election year. The resolution calls for the Task Force to (1) evaluate whether the standards of naturopathic medical education and training are adequate to protect the public and (2) makes recommendations as to the extent to which regulation of naturopathic physicians will benefit the health of the citizens of Illinois. HR 416 calls for the Task Force to provide a written report of its findings next year.
Guest guest
Yes, I was wodering about that myself as I read it. It certainly could be a two-edged sword. But what alternatives might be considered/advocated? Guest guest
Yours and the moderator's cxomments are somewhat typical of the reaction this post has gotten at various groups. (And I wondered about it when I first read the release.) Perhaps we should ask the naturopathic organization why they consider it a success. First they regulate it, then they ban it or make it so the small guy cant survive. , robert-blau wrote: > > Moderator's Note: This is the WORST information I have heard all day.. What is so good about regulation? Does it keep allopathic medicine from being one of the top killers of the American people? Or does it just allow for the structure of power so they can get away with it?? Guest guest
Who is going to do the study? Allopathic providers don't seem to know very much about Naturopathy. Also, Big Pharma doesn't want this because they can't make any money from it. Bet it turns into the " fox watching the chicken house " . New Mexico does have licensing of Naturopathic type providers. There are very few licensed providers in this state. The ones I have found are not licensed and usually working in certain health related areas. Unless you get to know them and ask they will not tell you including the Doctors of Oriental Medicine. Leon ______________________________\ ____ Be a better pen pal.
