What is coriander seed? Coriander is not just a spice used in

cooking, it has many medicinal values and promotes natural healing.

 

 

Coriander's essential oil has been used through the ages, it was

thought by the Egyptian's to provide immorality. The Egyptians also

believed in was helpful in raising a man's sperm count. But in

today's society it is used in alleviating stomachaches and improving

digestion. It is also used to reduce stress where people can express

their thoughts.

 

 

Coriander's essential oil contains linalool, geranial, vitamin C,

and Potassium all these aid in the circulatory system, digestive

system and is good for the skin. Coriander is also good for migraine

headaches, by drinking coriander tea a couple of times per day. To

prepare coriander tea, bring a cup of water to a boil add 1/4

teaspoon crushed coriander seeds, let mixture set for ten minutes.

Strain and then add 2 teaspoons sugar.

 

 

 

To use coriander for an upset stomach take 1/4-teaspoon coriander

and 1/4 teaspoon of rosemary, add 1/2-teaspoon peppermint. Mix with

1-cup water. Let mixture stand for 10 minutes. Drink after meals.

 

 

When purchasing corianders buy whole seeds, crushed seeds loose a

lot of their essential vitamins and minerals. When storing place

seed in a wet paper towel and put in a plastic storage bag and place

in refrigerator.

 

 

This is a recipe for cilantro spread that can be used with carrot

and celery stalks.

 

To prepare you will need:

 

 

2 teaspoons chopped fresh cilantro

 

1 cup plain yogurt

 

 

In a small dish mix cilantro and yogurt. Then cover with plastic

wrap or lid and refrigerate overnight.
