And consider who supports the medical schools that train doctors to use drugs. ************************************** Nope, no wondering involved here. The perks for using a specific drug include first class 10 day vacations to Jamaica, Bermuda, wherever you want to go......not to mention the extra $5000/month (probably much more by now) incentive if all your patients are on, let's say, Lisinopril. More patients on the drug the higher the 'incentive.' Can you guess the kind of people that are swarming the field? Marge
Guest guest
Jerry, This is excellent information. However, Big Pharma isn't interested in promoting vitamins which they can't make money from. They want prescription customers and repeat customers. You know, allopathic mentality. Prevention and cure hasn't created financial growth for them. Just me.... Jan ========================================== .. Guest guest
All, I thought that was what the CODEX was all about...to make it easy for BIG_PHARMA to take over the vitamin supply all over the world, like the HUNT'S tried to buy up all of the Silver Mines, several years back, and corner the silver markets, anyone's memory that longggg? Shades of GOLDFINGER, and we thought that was just fiction.....hmmmmnnnn! ng - <creativesources Saturday, October 02, 2004 1:08 PM Big Pharma > Jerry, > This is excellent information. Guest guest
This is a picture of the man that's creating problems for those of us that want unencumbered access to supplements. Do you get the impression that Durbin, in fact nearly every Senator and Rep., are not hanging out with people that have much regard for nutritional supplements? Yet they have no hesitation about depriving the rest of us of supplements. - Jerry Mittelman jerry mittelman Saturday, July 23, 2005 7:09 AM Big PHARMA Public Enemy Number One? Guest guest
Reporting serious adverse drug events and deaths on the rise The FDA has operated the Adverse Event Reporting System since 1998. From 1998 to 2005 reported serious adverse drug events increased by 260%. The reporting of fatal drug events has increased by 270%. Drugs withdrawn fro the market due to serious adverse events only made up 1% of these events in 2005 (26% in 1999; a very disturbing trend). For 13 new biotechnology drugs reported serious events grew by 1,580%. Out of 1489 drugs related to serious adverse events, just 20% of these drugs caused 97% of all of these events. The information is available in the September 10th, 2007 issue of Archives of Internal Medicine.
