A complete healing of ulcers herbally will take time.Relief of pain

is just a start of that process.Herbs I am sure can heal an ulcer but

if lifestyle changes aren't made they will come back.Diet and stress

relief might be a good place to start with this.(I know easier said

then done).

Cayenne is a good Ulcer healer- start with a 1/4 tea. in juice/water

a couple times a day and work up to 1 tea. Dried cayenne does not

cause ulcers it in fact heals them and relieves the pain. The acids

that cause problems for people with cayenne are only brought out with

cooking.

Demulcefiy herbs will also help soothe and heal the ulcer.A cold

infusion is probably more soothing.

Comfrey root/Marshmallow/slippery elm- soothing delmulcant and will

help heal the membranes

Meadowsweet will help settle the acid in the stomach

Valerian or hops can be used for help in reducing stress.

As for diet changes- a reduction of protein products and fiber( helps

the stomach heal as it doesn't have to work so hard), no coffee,

alcohol or tobacco.

Hope something in this post will help your husband and his ulcer.

Ulcers can also be caused by taking certain medicines. My mother's doctor

had her taking an asprin a day to thin her blood. Over time the asprin

caused her to have a stomach ulcer, which she didn't even know about until

she took some alkaseltzer one day and started coughing up blood. The

alkaseltzer aggravated it and turned it into a bleeding ulcer. She had to

be rushed to the emergency room. just another reason to avoid medicines

(even asprin) and don't always take something just because your docotor says

to, look into it first.

About 1999 or 2000, I was diagnosed (endoscopy) with 3 ulcers and had

H-Pylori. Took the antibodics for it that came in a kit. It seemed to

work. My gut sure felt better and I took prilosec everyday for about a

year. In 2004 I had an ulcer in the antrum...which I'm not sure where

that is.

Anyway, my gut is swelling again everytime I eat and I have gas all the

time. The ulcers are at it again. Has any one got any info they would

share.

My drink of chose is straight out of the bottle club soda. My stomach

feels better when I drink it. And I'm going back to Prilosec. It helps

a lot, but I sure would like to hear others stories on how to deal with

this. I know food with high fat content cause a lot of the problems

also.

Do you ever REALLY get rid of ulcers????
