Homeopathy is not a placebo theraphy

Hi,

I wanted to talk on this very topic since many years.

I have a friend who makes huge claims about homeopathy and I feel sceptical

about it.

I believe the theory behind it is understandable and possible, but I have just

never seen effects with it personally.

She says she has cured people of cancer and then they have dies.

this seems scary to me.

She felt she could cure a child with encephalitis - he was on steroids to

reduce the swelling and she said he should not be on steroids but on homeopathy.

I told her that there are cases that are very acute and need immediate -

sometimes harsh intervention and when the patient stabilizes we can bring them

to balance. The child was fine after two days of steroids and was then in a

situation where he could take herbs.

She insisted to me that there are homeopathic remedies that could cure people

with blood coming out of the mouth or people in coma.

Is this safe or realistic?

I have seen her " treat " people and have found that many of her cures seem to

be imagined.

What are the possibilities with homeopathy?

Can you clarify for me?

She insists that she cured her son of ITP but in the mean time we had him on

amla - after which his white blood cell count reduced dramatically.

He was also on high doses of vitamin c and was taking herbs to encourage blood

thickening.

I just felt that the other methods he was using were very powerful and yet she

says it is homeopathy that healed him.

I would like to hear from people with evidence about the possibilities of

homeopathy because if it is all its cracked up to be it is pretty ideal
