Guest guest
Note the comment about the teeth at the end . . . Old skeletons found lying under rocky ledge Aftenposten [Norway], 30 Apr 2007 A family out on a hike in western Norway made a startling discovery over the weekend. Kristine Hjartnes told newspaper Aftenposten that her family found the skeletons of four persons by coincidence. Experts think the skeletons can be anywhere from 200 to 300 years old, while some think they may date back to the Iron Age. Hjartnes said her family was out looking for a cave at Drageid, in Hordaland County, when her brother's father-in-law lifted a stone under a ledge. There lay the remains of four people, with some of the bones found inside a decayed plastic bag. A human skull was also found nearby. The family immediately called the police. The police in turn called Bergen Museum, which sent out several experts to the site with the police. They could quickly determine that the skeletons were old, because their teeth indicated they stemmed from a time before either sugar or amalgam fillings were introduced in Norway. http://www.aftenposten.no/english/local/article1763326.ece
