Today, we reveal truly astonishing details about the California almond industry, whose leaders have decided to require all almonds to be pasteurized (cooked), and yet have them mislabeled as " raw. " Why does this impact you? Because virtually all the almonds consumed in North America are grown in California. Under this new rule, due to go into effect in the Fall, consumers would have no access to truly raw almonds. This rule is an effort to deliberately and falsely label almonds in order to deceive consumers and make them think the nuts are still raw and living (when, in fact, they've been cooked).
