NATURAL PRODUCTS ASSOCIATION SAYS MEDICAL JOURNAL STUDY ON VITAMINS AND

MORTALITY IS FLAWED; POINTS TO RESEARCH SHOWING HEALTH BENEFITS AND

URGES PEOPLE TO CONTINUE PROPER ANTIOXIDANT USE

A recent Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) article

suggests that the use of antioxidants might increase mortality risk. The

Natural Products Association disputes the conclusions of this new

meta-analysis, saying that the study was scientifically misleading and

that most clinical research continues to show that antioxidants are safe

and beneficial.

TOXIC CHEMICAL LEACHES FROM POPULAR BABY BOTTLES

A newely released report states that a chemical known to be toxic to the

nervous and reproductive system, and a developmental toxin, leaches from

popular clear, plastic baby bottles. Five of the most popular brands of

baby bottles on the market were tested and all five leached bisphenol A

at levels that have been found to cause harm in numerous laboratory

animal studies.
