Guest guest
Moderator's Note: If the patient is under a doctor's care- we can not say to do anything other than what the doctor has already prescribed. We are not allowed to recommend or prescribe in the first place. At most what we can do is share our personal experiences, if any apply and anyone wishes to share. Or give ideas for you to research futher on your own and for the patient to research and decide on by themselves. Misty ps. What is your training? How did this patient come to see you? ------------------- The culture of a Staph infection showed sensitivity to several antibiotics. Keflex/cephalexin 500mg three x per day for 10 days. Still wasn't cleared. The home health nurse began to irrigate the hole with H202 followed by a NS flush. From every day to every other day this was done. Now, drainage has increased and also some discomfort. The hole is not as deep but still there. The physician prescribed Cipro !!! which the pt. does not want to take. Any suggestions? This pt. does take vitamins and supplements and drinks green tea. TIA Denise
