Guest guest
Hi Lisa, Thanks for the question. Well, the easiest thing to say is, " if in doubt, don't " . Then you know for sure there will be no problem, and if your making the toothpaste yourself it is easy to control what goes in and what stays out of your creation. For me, myself and I, I have no problem with peppermint while using a homeopathic remedy. I was once helping my homepathic teacher give a lecture when he developed a sore throat. As a last resort, he put the remedy into a glass of coke (we couldn't find any water) and sipped it through out his lecture. The remedy worked perfectly. On the same token, if the reference material- the materia medica says absolutely no peppermint with that specific remedy, consider that information was written by rather brilliant people, and then the question becomes how much is the taste worth to you? And if you make your own toothpaste, this could be a wonderful opportunity to explore tastes like orange, cardamom, sage, lavender, ginger, etc., but again- do your own research before ingesting any essential oil. And finally, the proof is in the pudding.. If you use peppermint and you still notice the benefits of the homeopathic remedy- well that says something. Hope that helps... Best Wishes, Misty L.
