Why I like " Dr. Mike " . . . drmikethompson(Dr. T's Health Tips) Answers to Cancers " Cheap, safe drug kills most cancers, " the bold headline read last month from New Scientist magazine. There has been " an unprecedented amount of interest in this story from readers, " according to their Internet web site. The drug is noted as " easy to manufacture and dirt cheap " due to it not being patented. " Love of Money ... " Studies are noted as needed but not likely because " pharmaceutical companies are unlikely to pay because they can't make money on unpatented medicines " in a stunning admission by this mainstream science journal regarding " the root of all evil " . Saving your bottom ranks lower than the bottom line of dollar$ and cent$ with the drug pusher$ of modern medi$in. It's all Relative The article also notes in its opening that the drug " is known to be relatively safe " . However, the article concludes noting unpleasant side effects while noting " this may be a price worth paying if it turns out to be effective " . The side effects noted while serious are " relatively safe " when compared to other cancer drugs. But Seriously Folks ... The mechanism of this drug should be of far greater interest for there are nutritional options that address these same mechanisms without side effects at all. The article notes that cancer cells form when normal cells " don't get enough oxygen " and change to glycolysis for energy which uses vast amounts of sugar very ineffectively. This information was disclosed by Nobel Prize winner Dr. Otto Warburg, M.D. more than 80 years ago though largely ignored by modern medicine from then until now. The article also notes that " it had been assumed that cancer cells used glycolysis because their mitochondria were irreparably damaged " . That assumption was based upon ignorance of Warburg in place of interest in drug$ and dollar$. Mitochondria were reactivated with use of the drug in the study. The minerals chromium and selenium are vital to mitochondria. Chromium results in efficient delivery of sugar to mitochondria for production of energy with oxygen. Reduced chromium and oxygen levels can therefore bring mitochondrial inactivity and cellular change to glycolysis i.e. cancer. One of the jobs of mitochondria is a process called apoptosis that results in death of cancer cells. Apoptosis is enhanced by the mineral selenium and the substance ubiquinone also known as coenzymeQ10 (CoQ10). Selenium is used by the body to produce CoQ10. However, the use of statin drugs interferes with this process. If statin drugs are being used then the actions of inexpensive selenium will be stunted and much more costly preformed CoQ10 will have to be ingested directly. The article noted how cancer spreads by breaking down collagen as well. The mineral silicon is the primary item responsible for collagen strength and elasticity. Keeping up high levels of silicon make it much more difficult for cancer to spread. The minerals silicon, selenium and chromium are three of the most common mineral deficiencies caused by the average Standard American Dietary (SAD) choices of the last 80 years. This is primarily due to the white, refined flour and white, refined sugar that makes up more than one-third of the common dietary. These minerals are much more powerful in food. Supplements of these should be 100 per cent whole food and complete vegetal sources to maximize their benefit. Slow Learners The New Scientist article concluded that their " findings challenge the current assumption that mutations, not metabolism, spark off cancers " . Cancer is not primarily mutation but rather adaptation brought about due to poor choices. This was noted more than 80 years ago by Nobel Prize winner Dr. Otto Warburg, M.D. It was noted more than 100 years ago by Dr. Antoine Béchamp -- the preeminent yet largely unknown greatest scientist of modern times if not of all time. Oscar Nod Almost 80 years ago Paul Muni won a Best Actor for his leading role in 'The Story of Louis Pasteur'. Though billed as non-fiction it was primarily a work of fiction. Rat studies showed an increase in cancer with statin drugs but that information is not given out to people put on statins. My mom who was one who believed the doctor is God theory was put on statin drugs seven years ago. Right now she is dying of pancreatic cancer. How and when will we stop this drug mentality insanity?
